LIBRARY AND INFORMATION CENTRE



The Library has a comprehensive assortment of Technical books in excess of 15000 volumes including e-journals from all parts of the building and furthermore has global and national Journals. The advanced Library brags off having the most recent assortment CDs. With a huge assortment of books, periodicals, and reports, the library serves the requirements of the staff and students of this College. The college also has access to NPTEL videos and portals. It is the process of setting up a digital library to provide the students with the requisite material for a better learning experience. The library is accessed from 9 a.m. to 5 pm.

1. Library Cards are issued to all members of the library for borrowing books. Students have to show their identity cards Staff have to provide a recommendation letter from the Principal.
2. Members of the library should return all library documents as well as cards before leaving this institution.
3. Faculty and staff going on long leave, deputation, study leave, or extraordinary leave return all borrowed materials before leaving the institute.

CIRCULATION POLICY
Borrowing Privileges
- PG Students - 5 books for 21 days
- UG Students - 4 books for 21 days
- Faculty - 6 books for one academic year
- Tech. Supporting staff - 3 books for one academic year
- Non Teaching staff -1 books for 30 days
- Books are issued on loan for a period of 21 days
- Duration of loan may be reduced, if circumstances so demand
The loans may be renewed for a further period, provided no other reader has reserved the same. For renewal, students should bring the books for physical verification. Renewal must be done on or before the due date. - Members of the library must take utmost care in handling books and other library documents.
- Reference books must be returned at the reference counter after use. Reference books will be issued to staff members for an overnight
- Students should have their identity cards while in the library
- Documents such as Seminar reports, Mini projects, and project reports will not be issued for photocopying purposes.
- CDs are issued for 2 days.
OVERDUE DOCUMENTS
- Readers who fail to return the books/documents on or before the due date will have to pay overdue charges of 1 rupee per day per document. No grace period is allowed. However, if the due date falls on a holiday, the next working day will be treated as the due date. But if the documents are not returned on the next working day, the holidays also will be taken into account for calculating the overdue charges.
- Overdue documents will not be renewed unless the overdue charges are paid at the library counter
- Readers who returned the book in a worn-out condition will have to pay the binding charges also.
LOSS OF BOOKS/BORROWERS CARDS
- Members of the library should return all library documents as well cards before leaving this institution.
- Readers who lose books will have to either replace the same book of the same edition or to pay three times the price of the book as replacement cost.
DISCIPLINE
- All readers are requested to maintain absolute silence in the library. No discussions including subject discussions are allowed in the library.
- All personal belongings such as Textbooks, Notebooks, any other printed materials, bags, Files, Lab uniforms, Boxes, etc.. are not allowed inside the library.
- Issued books must be shown at the entrance of the library.
- Library books found to be taken outside the library without proper record will be considered as theft.
